Community Groups Discussion Guide – Week of April 26th, 2026

Series: Christianity 101 // Week 3

Topic: The Bible

Speaker: Pastor J.D. Abell

Ice Breaker: What is one thing you wish you could tell your younger self?

The message said, “Christianity is not built on human discovery but on divine revelation.”

Why is it important that God has revealed Himself rather than leaving us to figure Him out on

our own? How does that shape your faith?

The sermon emphasized that the Bible was “preserved like a treasure, not passed down like a

game.” Have you ever struggled with trusting the reliability of Scripture? What helps strengthen

your confidence in God’s Word?

“If God has spoken, then what He has spoken is true.” How does believing the Bible is truthful

and trustworthy affect the way you approach difficult or unpopular teachings in Scripture?

James 1:22 says to be doers of the Word, not hearers only. What is one area of your life where

you know God’s Word is calling you to obedience right now?

The sermon said, “Many own a Bible. Few are owned by it.” What does it practically look like to

be “owned by” the Bible in your daily life?

The final point was to trust what God promises. Which promise of Scripture do you most need

to hold onto in this season of life, and why?
